would it be a good idea to have convicts and green sunfish together in the same tank? if not would it be because of the temperature

They will both do well in the same temps. The only problem will be with breeding. Greens breed in cooler water.

my green is a tough fish he killed a lmb that was bigger than him, but he won't really bother fish smaller than himself, i would put the cons when they are getting ready to breed in a seperate tank
