You are still at 30 ml/min? with .5ppm nitrates?
I would back off to like 20 ml/min then wait a week. From there if you still have nitrates slow it down more, small amount the though like 15 or so. If you are at zero then up it by like 5ml/min to about 25.
I always wait about a week for each adjustment since the bacteria need to grow and adjust to the different flow rate. Sorta like cycling your tank.
I've had pretty good results with a coil denitrator the problem is they take a while to cycle upon set up and you have to adjust them slowly. Also a steady rate is important, you don't want the flow to fluctuate. I seem to be moving once a year right now and each time i do i have to re-cycle my denitrator because it gets air in it and crashes the whole the whole thing.
