Coincidental Fish Run Ins?!?!?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
At just about any company I work with or go to I always manage to find somebody that keeps fish beyond goldfish etc.

I have yet to meet anybody that likes big fish. They all keep little ones, think my monsters are "neat" but dont see the point. The LFS I deal with know I have large fish but I seem to be the only one around. SO if you live in ontario, canada and own big fish let me know. It would be nice to talk to someone with the same extreme hobby as me.

Were i work i meet alot of people with big fish, mainly aussie natives, e.g Barra, Murray Cod. but i recently told one of my work mates about this site and he loves it! also i sold another mate a barra, and he's rapped.:headbang2

i LOVE this hobby , but it can be a little expensive at times!

I've ran into a few MFKers around SoCal. In fact, funny story...I was at my lfs with my friend when we saw some large monster fish in the feeder tanks. I remember running into Justink there once or twice and remembered his face from the Meet. I asked the worker if those belonged to Justin and he said, "yup...MFK?" So my friend bought the fish since it was only $20.

I haven't had any encounters that were that random, I've met several people here at school that are into fish, but they are mainly fellow biology majors so I wasn't that surprised. I did however somewhat randomly run into one of the pretty well known members here. A couple alumni from my school came to talk to our ichthyology class about their graduate work. One of them was some guy named Solomon who was talking about his work with gars or something like that... ;)

i have always been able to find people who like fish in general and keep things other than goldfish they may not always be tank busters but none the less big or small fish are cool.

i have also noticed that i meet alot of people on World of Warcraft that are into the hobby ...just at the drop of the word aquarium i get like 3 private messages asking what i keep.

Nope, I have yet to meet anyone that is into fish.

Most people already think its strange that I am a female that keeps a tank thats "big" (I think its small, and I want bigger and more). When the hear I'm on MFK they look at me all confused.
