Cold Snap Causes Frozen Iguana Shower

Yeah, when I visited my grandma in Florida when I was little I would always go out in the front yard and catch green anoles. They definitely prefered the ground to the trees.

i hear u can get iguana taco's in mexico and central america...

i really hope that the florida state dnr and or park service took the oportunity to clean up that mess...no it wouldnt get rid of iguana's all together in florida, but it would help. and they have to compete w/ local species...of some kind. u cant just add a 1'-6' reptile to a habitat and have nothing change.

You'd think a 5 foot lizard failling out of a tree would injure it somehow... They're probably weeding themselves out. :nilly:

It doesnt injure them at all, they make jumps like these all the time. I see it constantly here in around my neighborhood.

Yep! When I was in Belize I saw them jump out of trees from 40+ feet up and dive straight into a river. Mind you these were fully awake and conscious though.

They have huge muscles that allow them to resist the impact quite well, they are very sturdy indeed.

What can I say I like iguanas, wouldnt mind at all shering the outdoors with them;) Wasnt this news like from last year:confused: Does anybody knows if this happens every year?
