You dont use the hose when its that cold nothing would probal come put anyways!
all you have to do is empty it out completely when your done, this can be accomplished by lifting up one end and slow going down the length of the hose.

think of it this way would you rather risk your hose or your tank?

heck you can even take it back inside when your done it isn't gonna freeze in your house.

The tank is heavy the the less I move it the better. I'm terrified of breaking it.

lol

exactly

I think I will put a bucket of water in the garage to see if it freezes.

If you put a powerhead in and keep the water moving it shouldnt freeze.

heres what you do take a thermometer and leave it in the garage and in the morning check temp. To be honest with you i dont think it will freeze and if you have a space heater you can turn put thaty in the garage and point it at the tank to put some heat on it...

I wasnt worried about the hose but the pipes

To be clear I live in Wisconsin. Winter is serious here I don't need frozen pipes. Actually now that I think about it the water outside has been off since fall.

at my house the pipes are under my house, with a faucet for the hose on the side. I guess it might be different if you have pipe running out in the open.

R U from da up of michigan lol it gets cold like that hear

we've told you what to do and if your second guessing our input then i suggest that you just wait till spring when the weather is better. You have to make a choice. there arent really any other ways. You dont wanty it in the house tyo test it and u are worried it will freeze which me and others have said it wont. Make a choice and let us know what happens

I'm going to test out the freezing just to be certain but I'm not too worried about it. I think I am going to still test it outside. And I will use cold cold water and fill it slowly.
