What kind of wlim mechanical filter? I looked at their site but the closest thing was their "wave pressurized prefilter" but it looks different from yours.

Kendragon,what sort of temperature are your pheonix barbs and neos happy at.i have a pond in a polytunnel got 3 x 12"-13" pheonix barbs,gar and a channa gaucha,http://flic.kr/s/aHsjF8RNNs.also have 3 neolissochilus stracheyi in a fish house and was thinkin of puttin them in the pond for the summer.this pond is really tempory until i buid a bigger concrete glassfibered pond with windows.Thanx

I've seen pictures of mahseer with koi but my pond is mahseer only. Only Indian Mahseers can be kept outside. All others are tropical and cannot take the cold.
Don't know what you mean by smallest size. My collection is from MFK vendor Rare Fish.

What i meant is when they are full grown, which variety are the smallest.
Seems like some grow to 5' long or longer.
