Cold weather fishing

I forgot I made this post

I didn't catch anything. I was trying get some catfish. I didn't even see a mosquitofish. Maybe I used the wrong bait?
I went fishing again Monday and caught a turtle on accident. He was just holding on to the fish and wouldn't let go until I picked it up:

I let him have the bait before I let him go. Anyone know what kind of turtle it was?
