I currently have a 10 gallon aquarium with no aquatic creatures yet.It has a filter, gravel, fake plants, small stones, large rock/stone.Im trying to set up a natural coldwater type aquarium.I was thinking about stocking it with white cloud minnows or rosy red minnows.I read some where that the white cloud minnows don't need a heater. If i have to i'll probably buy a heater later on in the month. The aquarium isn't cycled yet but i'm planning on doing it this summer.I also have a 2 gallon aquarium which I could use as a quarintene(excuse my spelling mistakes if any) tank.If I don't get the minnows i'll probably end up getting a heater and make it a tropical aquarium. What are some other good coldwater fish that can live in a 10 gallon aquarium?Could anyone give me some stocking suggestions?I'm planning on getting some driftwood or other large rocks to decorate the aquarium with.I'll get some pictures in as soon as possible.

Sounds like it would make an excellent darter tank...

I tried darters in a ten. It's good if you have AC 24/7 but if not, they will die.

a little group of mosquito fish would be nice, and there very easy to catch

Darters don't really mind the warmer waters. They need lots of O2 though...

Are you sure there will be room for fish after all the furnishings :D .

Have you tried going out to a couple of local lakes or rivers to see what you can find in natives?

Keep us posted on what you do,

Tessellated Darter. They come in with the feeders here all the time. Active and always excited to see you (provided you come bearing gifts of bloodworms).

In my 10 gal i have black nosed dace and golden shiners. the shiners will eventually outgrow but dace are perfect, no heater, and eat everything.(they also look cool, especially with a male, but only 1.) drew
