collected a poor ray today.

went this morning and collect a male marble.
sadly he is in a very poor state. pelvics were trying to rip threw the skin and his disc is very very thin. its also very tatty around the disc edge.

the ray will only eat worms and as such hasent been getting fed properly. he was in a tank with loads of other stuff which all looked very nice and fat, just this ray was suffering. the tank full of Pbass wont of helped this guy get to food.

anyway i dident know if he was past the point of return when i brought him home as i could not leave him there and he was a very good price, well it would of been a very good price had he been healthy.
his tail is chewd right down were the stinger is hanging over the stump and its also white half way up so im hoping it dosent fungus up.

anyway, got him home and gave him an hour and added a good hand full of worms. he chowed down and ate the lot so he looks bloated now.

he has just started to slowly move around the tank so happily there is hope for this guy.
he is 12" disc, some of you might of seen him on aquariust free adds.
 
just a couple of quick pics. he actually looks better in the pics then he dose in real life. strange because when i have a stunning fish pics dont do them justice!

anyway he just ate a huge amount of worms so his belly is full but you can still see how thin his disc is.

im hopeing it will be alot nicer once he is up to full fitness and eating well.

now comes the long hard road to recovery and getting him onto different foods.
 
Definitely has a nice pattern. Shame some peeps get into something they aren't willing to
or able to handle.

That is the marble i had before i sold it to the person you bought it off in Lincoln, i assume it was him? (nameing no names)
He was a really nice fish when i bought him and he lived in my tank for a good while. He cost me a fortune from wormsdirect lol, but it was well worth it, im horrified to hear that he has ended up in this state!!:cry::cry:
It makes me very very sad.:(:(
There is a pic of him in my album when he had his tail.( i think i have added it) Im really glad you bought him and he is in very safe hands. Please keep me posted on how he gets on.

yes mate thats the one.

the other fish in his tank were spot on, all fat and looked well. he also had another motoro in there a smaller normal morph and that looked very well. i think it was a case of this guy only eating worms so everything else was getting plenty of other stuff and them darn Pbass were probably hammering this guys worms well before he was getting any.

as long as i pull him round and getting eating properly then ill be very happy. im hopeing he will mate with my marble when she is ready as both there markings are awsome and will knock out some wicked pups.

the tank looks mucky in the pics but it because i threw in loads of food as well as the worms and then all the other rays poo was getting stirred up as they crap like horses!
im glad it collects were it dose and not into the filters as ide be cleaning filters non stop.
everyday i have to vac the bottom and top up inbetween the water changes they get every 2 days.
