thank you mate. thats eased my mind abit.

well this guy has been really really underfed, then starved for 3 days because he thought he was doing the right thing to transport the ray. it really really sucks how ppl can keep these rays and not have a clue there doing it wrong. poor guy looks so depressed i feel so sorry for him.

ive been chucking decent amounts of worms smashed up with worms and pellets at regular times this last 2 days and he has been eating small amounts. i think his belly has shrunk with haveing very little food for so long.

am i expecting to see a big FART? and bubbles then mate? lol or will it just slowly dissapear.

Funnily enough i was going to use the word f..t but i didnt want to lower the tone...ha ha....nice one Dave.....call a spade a spade....its the right way to be!
Seriously though,i have seen this many times, especially with emaciated rays like this one,for some reason ive only noticed it when feeding redworms, the ones from fishing tackle shops, they gas up in the stomach, its probably because the food intake is too much due to stomach shrinkage.....your probably right there, try and feed him very gradual,i reckon that lump will be gone in the morning.....when hes had a good FART!!!

Hi Dave , Shame the fish was in such bad shape he is a nice one .
I think you are out of the woods if he is eating ,
Aquaman is spot on with his comments .
I have also experienced this .
Its just a matter of getting the fishes stomach to stretch out to its full size .
Its like us if we are starved our stomach shrinks ,we can only eat small amounts gradualy builing up.
You could do with getting him to eat something a little harder to digest ?
Will he take prawn ?

no mate wont eat nothing else but earthworm. not even blood worm! never ever had a ray not eat bloodworm.

at the moment im chopping up the EW and mixing it with chopped prawn and pellets. he goes threw the food picking out the EW slowly but atleast he is eating. this is the way ive always changed fishes diets and it has always worked for me. ive never had a fish that hasent given in yet and this ray will as well im sure, in the end.

its going to be a long slow road to recovery i recon. expencive as well if he dont start eating other stuff by the time this 1kg bag of worms is gone.
