That's what I was thinking. Like I could run down the length with a hacksaw and it wasn't difficult to remove at all. Other pieces I could pull it off with no effort.

I found an AWESOME piece and 3 other small ones today. However I'm leaving them outside before I do any work on them simply because I'm not bringing whatever bugs/termites are on it. It was on a dead tree, the wood was solid, and still was very hard when I knocked on it. I assume it will work. Just not sure what steps I should take to clean it. Cause the second it gets in my door it'll be in the water.
I jus scrubbed and soaked my in the bathtub with really hot water. did tht for bout two days and then put mine in the tank. some say u should srub, soak, then let it completely dry (im guessing for a couple weeks??) b4 you put in ur tank.

Mines about 8x3 so all maintenance has to be done in the garage or outside. And I'm not waiting that long lol.
lol i didnt wait longeither. jus scrubbed n soaked n threw it it my tank. tannins really havent released and everything seems to be doin fine.
Found this bad boy yesterday. Just got done hosing it off. I don't know whats next haha. This piece is huge!
