I graduated 2 yrs ago as an industrial design major. Only thing I didn't do in college that I wish I had(would have made getting a job 100 times easier) was get an internship. If you have to go to school for an extra year so you can time out and do a full year internship do it, you'll make 50 percent more out of the gate and you'll have your pick of jobs. Ok, I'll take my nose out of your thread now.
