Color enhancement

What’s the best food to enhance red color on flowerhorn? I have freeze dried shrimp, freeze dried mysis shrimp and hikari cichlid gold. Which one would have the best results the fastest?

Never heard of doing that. Does it help red color?

its meant to be a powder you can coat insects with and feed them to lizards but as a pure fish food i assume its extra healthy

I didn’t either. I was reading the labels on my fish food and a couple of them have it but not sure what other red enhancements are in it or not

im just guessing but all the vitamins, amino acids and minerals in it would possibly help fish color

Just do forum search for keyword astaxanthin, you can filter the search by adding member RD.

Tons of discussion for red coloration. The jist of all the discussions is that using a mega dose of astaxanthin cannot override genetics for permanent red coloration.
