Color themed tanks!

I know that people set up tanks by genus (Vieja, parachromis, etc) and other ways but has anyone set up a tank based on a color theme? (all green, red, yellow, or blue, etc). If you have a tank set up like this then pls post a pic and list the species of fish you have in the tank as well as tank lighting, and tank specs. Cant wait to see the awsomeness!!! :popcorn:
 
Most african cichlid keepers do this, like blue and yellow theme tanks, It would be really interesting to see if any CA/SA keepers do this too :P

I swear I red earlier on here that someone was thinking of an all yellow themed tank or something
 
ya i was just thinking how cool it would be to see a tank with a bunch of CA/SA cichlids that are all based on a certain color. I wonder if its just an african thing or if anyone does it with new worlds too!
 
I think the problem is that most SA/CA cichlids tend to be multicolored, so it might be hard to find enough species of any particular color.
 
I know what you mean but most fish have colors that are more prominant on them as well. It wouldnt have to be a tank with ONLY the color blue for example but could be themed on fish with mostly blue
 
I tried to make a Salvini/Festae/Carpintis/etc community and failed miserably. Some of the most colorful fish that would look great in a community are def. not compatible, at least not for most of us. It's a tricky business.

This is my dream tank, probably the best looking setup I've ever seen, and I have no idea how the guy makes it work cause the tank is clearly not big enough for all those large fish. And they all look amazing, not even a nipped fin.

(You might not see it in the picture but there's a breeding pair of Umbee and Salvini in there).

the tank you showed looks amazing but I don't see any colour theme there :P
