Color themed tanks!

mm yeah true, well I guess I didn't pay much attention to the original post lol. I just posted what I thought is a great combination of as many colors as you can get in the Cichlid world.

As for color specific tanks, I've never really seen one. Something like Zonatum, EBJD, Carpintis, and maybe an Asthateros robertsoni with a group of blue schooling fish would surely look interesting tho.

that sounds great! I was thinking along the lines of the yellow/red/orange spectrum, think of all the possibilities?
gold severum, blood parrot, midas, red fenestratus, bifasciatus, all of the Parachromis minus dovii.

well the mota and the freddy are parachromis species so I got those but yeah I totally missed salvini and festae.

you could also have firemouths for the red bellies, or passiones

Ya thats what im talking about! For a red tank you might do Festae, RTM, Red istlanum, Lyonsi, Red devil/ midas with a school of red, orange, or yellow fish (cherry barbs, some kind of tetra, etc) Some green plants and some that have a red "tint" to them. Knowing Ca/Sa cichlids it would be hard to do but not impossible and would look ELITE!!!!! I plan on trying this in the near future woot woot!

i'd just do a red midas male tank with a cool background and some driftwood, that would be really neat!

for schooling fish whaat about those irian rainbows? the red coloured ones? they get around 6" so would be good with cichlids.
