Hey guys,

I've just been told by my parents that they think my fish tank is plain in color. they are losing interest and threatened to get rid of my 125 gallon tank =/. they'd like something in the tank more "colorful", that would be more "appealing"

as of right now, i have an NTT in there, a jardini, 2 parrot cichlids, an ornate bichir, a delheiz bichir, and 4 tinfoil barbs. I think everything in my tank is unique, but i guess its not good enough. I guess they want something that would resemble a salt water tank.

any suggestions?

channa's?

i love bettas but they are a lil small for that tank...maybe get one and put it in a 10 gal for them lol

any suggestions?

Peacock Bass (Orino, Mono etc)
Orange Pike Cichlid
Motoro, Tiger, Leo Stingray (if you can afford the Tiger or Leo) they looks AMAZING
Gold Nugget Pleco
Green Phantom Pleco
Blue Phantom Pleco
Black Bar Silver Dollar (they will develop red on the head)
Red Fin Wolffish (a little risky, but should get along)
Red Snook
Triginus
Arapima Giga (red scales in adult BUT ONLY in your dreams)
Siamese Tiger Datnoid (always stay yellow)

if you want something similar to salt water, you should do an African cichlid tank

and snakehead is ban in United States

snakeheads are too aggressive. and they look a lot like my ornate bichir. any other suggestions?

Ummm.. Snakeheads look nothing like bichirs and they are illegal in the U.S.

^^i know, i was about to ask where he got them. but then i remembered you aint supposed to let people know when u keep.......

oops:D

There arent much colorful BIG FISH around to keep

You could say Asian Arowana, but thats also ILLEGAL in the states (I know it sucks)

other possible tankmate,

Scat (brackish water.. mmmm)
Redtail Payara (Tatasia)
Armatus Payara (you will need a LARGE tank)
Redtail Catfish (also need a LARGE tank or pool)
Goalith African Tiger Fish or Vittaius (also need a large tank / aggressive / silver)
or maybe Sex. Di (I forgot how to spell it / some big giant orange, red fin, stripped fish)

There this Characin (I forgot the name also) got pink tail, grows big and it look like a pike

pink tail characin or something...

Thats all + the above post, that's all I can think of at the moment

Good Luck! :D

The rest are mostly silver, brown, white, yellow

kick your parents out of the house lol

lol... i wish

thanks fish33 for all your suggestions. I will look into. I had a cichlid tank before. I didnt really like it. its prolly becuase it was mostly rocks and caves instead of plants. also, i didnt have enough so they were aggressive and territorial towards each other. I like a more peaceful tank (more of an anestetic to me)

and angler, i know snakeheads arent similiar to ornates, but they are close enough resemblence to my parents. Heck, they even asked me why i got the bichir since they have a simliar body shape as the arowana. I'm starting to think there might be nothing i could add that would be good enough
