Colorful tankmate for Datnoid

and angler, i know snakeheads arent similiar to ornates, but they are close enough resemblence to my parents. Heck, they even asked me why i got the bichir since they have a simliar body shape as the arowana. I'm starting to think there might be nothing i could add that would be good enough

I know what you mean. Non-fish keepers don't see much difference in different species of fish.
 
ohh and i cant have beautiful plecs in my tank because i've read that they, more often than not, will harass the bichirs by suckin the slime off of them, which makes my bichirs a little bit unhealthier and more prone to diseases.
 
i have read that 9/10 times a pleco does that it is b/c it is malnourished...so if you keep him well fed he will most likely not do that

can anyone confirm what cnoel said about plecs? and does anyone know about pike cichilds or jaguar cichlids and their compatability wit my tank?
 
cnoel is correct. MOST of the time it is because of a bad diet.
 
thanks for the read... i wish i knew that ahead of time so i would have added a plec long before i started adding my datnoid and arowana. plecs growth rate is so slow =/
