Any idea for some nice large colourful tank mates for my rays that wouldnt nip or stress them out?

Currently got a marble motoro and retic and arowana but fancy changing arowana up and getting a bit of colour! Love discus but too expensive in UK to find decent fully grown ones.

Thanks.

+1 on the Geos, Altifrons are your best bet as they get large.
There's also Pearsei, Psitticus and large Severums (I'm partial to the red ones)

I want and have tried geos but they always get munched! Even at 4" they are too small. Need to be fully grown at 8" to stand any chance with large rays. But not sure how long it takes Altifrons to reach that size? Got 4 at the moment that have gone from 1" or so to 3" in around 6 months. Going to be at least another year to stand a chance of going in the main tank with a 23" disc ray lol. Sure they are fine with Hystrix or such so depends on the rays you own.

Thanks all... Rays are only little, 8" and 6" at the moment so once sold silver arowana will look maybe at some geos and they can grow out together.

How active are geos?

Geos are active. I have one with mine, a pair of severums, various catfishes, and some tetras.

I have a geophagus altifron in my tank as well. Great fish. Helps keep the sand in check. I also have 2 african brown knifefish, 2 turquoise rainbows, 2 bala sharks, 4 congo tetra's, and 2 electric blue acara in there with them. I have 3 retics in with all these fish and never had a problem. I have marbled motoros as well but heard they can be a little more aggressive so I keep them in a species only tank. Another reason for that is I plan to breed my rays and don't want hybrid retics and marble motoros. My retics are already breeding for me!!

Awesome

Went to a local store today and they said theyd probably be happy to swap my arowana for a few red tail severums or couple geo's so just need to deco what I prefer!
