The look good! I like the subtle patterns on their backs.
thanks..... they are nice and plump... they are so happy and healthy now in full salt too.. you can tell how healthy by the silver being bright.. verses it having dark tinge to it.. when ever you see the dark tinge..it is time to increase salt going from brackish to full eventually... so the skin condition improves... :)

Wow nice fishies! I love Columbian sharks just don't have the space for them right now. As for the salt mix, I have heard that many people start their tiny fish out with pure freshwater or just a little salt and increase to full saltwater values as they age. This would mimic the lifestyle of columbian sharks, monos (especially monos!) and scats. Anyway just my input.

Good looking Catfish Liz. Blackfins look amazing as adults, shame not many of them go to keepers like you who can care for them!

View attachment 448144Heres a updated picture of my sharks...

Both your fish and your dog in your avatar are beautiful!!!

I have always loved the columbians, I like you, began keeping them with oscars, but I could never grow them past 6 inches before they died, this was well before my MFK days, and I have now been educated as to why the low survival rate. I have since moved on to Frontosa and other African's, but I have an empty 90 gal just begging to be set up and filled with a group of juvie columbians!

In what time frame did you convert the tank from brackish to full salt?

about three years... for the longest time it was brackish... thanks very much... that would be awesome.. perhaps you can go backish while they are smaller and add other brackish/salt water fish.. mine are too big now to add any .. but if you do it right... they can grow together.. let me know ....
