Your fish seem to have a case of ammonia poisoning. You somehow killed off your bacteria colony. Do your fish seem to be gasping for air at the surface? The redness in their gills is from the ammonia. It has damaged their gills and they have a hard time breathing.
 
last night i took a long hard look at my tank and noticed the cloudyness was due to the stringy stuff was floating all over in my water. i turned on the filter this morning my tank looked great! ammonia was 0 and most of the stringy stuff was gone. i added another dose of mela fish and fish went from sitting on the bottome to the very top of the water. breathing still looks somewhat labored though and theyre not too interested in eating still. but the over all physical appearance has improved a little bit.
 
thank you for your wishes surfer. everyone is slowly getting better. using melafish and pimafix along with the addition of ths fx5 that came in the mail.:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2.
 
Get the Melafix and Pimafix out of your tank. Those products will do absolutely nothing to your situation. And it's also why your fish are having labored breathings. These products can deplete oxygen level. Your fish need to breathe.

As per first post, was this before or after you added Melafix?

If your fish is still refusing to eat, add garlic on the food. What are you feeding them anyway?
 
labored breathing was before the treatment. i started off wth quick cure for a few days which i think did very little. once i did a 60% water change and started the mela and pima things started to look better. the appetite is coming back but very slowly. i do have some garlic powder that worked great to switch them on to hikari gold cichlid pellets. i just didnt know if that stuff was such a good idea with my fish being sick. it seems like i see minor improvements in over all fish and tank health ever 10-12 hours.

also media baskets are filled with top- filter floss middle-biomax bottm-pollishing pads. opinins ideas and sudgestions welcome
