Combining two tanks

I suggested PVC because I hate cutting glass :P and or a fish keeper/diy guy I am lazy. So I go the path of least resistance on most things. PVC would take 5 min to assemble just have to wait for cure time.
 
There is clear PVC that could be used as a bridge and connected by drilling the tanks and installing bulk heads that the PVC could be glued into.
The clear PVC is a bit expensive, but you probably don't need much.
And can yellow if exposed to sunlight (UV rays).
I use it to make fractionators, and fluidized reactors where I want to be able to see whats going on inside.
Below is a 6" diameter biotower made with clear PVC.

and a 4ft tall fluidized bed reactor using 8" diameter clear PVC

the FB has fine aragonite sand used a calcium media, which makes it appear milky
