I check in their "fish" dept. to see what there abusing at the time but I won't buy one from there.

I asked what days their tanks were restocked and would check in frequently to see what ocassional gems they may have gotten in. Every now and then, they will get in some fish with good genetics. You have to be the first there because they don't last long.

I have quite a few walmart fish actually. Their fish and tanks dont usually look much worse than my shops around here, and I have to drive over 2 hours to get to a good shop. I bought 3 GSPs for my 100G brackish, 2 of them are alive and doing extremely well. I also bought 2 colombians for this tank but either they are master hiders at their tiny (2.5") size or the GSPs have ambushed them. I got my mom an albino tiger oscar and 2 tinfoils for her 75G community. They are all also doing well. They had some large GSPs last week(4") for the same price as their smaller 1.5" ones, which were less than $5....I was tempted but none of them looked to be in good health. They were showing signs of internal parasites and were pretty ripped up.

My Pacu originally came from walmart, a friend purchased the fish for her 10gallon tank. She was informed that the fish would do fine that it would only get as big as the tank allowed. Well he was about 3" in horrible condition from banging into the tank glass and being covered in fin rot, I saved him from being flushed. Ive had him around a year and hes grown into a rather beautiful 12.5" fish. :)

I hear this a lot from people claiming to have 'SAVED' puppy mill pups from the mall pet stores....the truth is that by purchasing the fish your condeming countless others to slow death by supporting an establishment that shouldn't be allowed IMO/E to even sell fish in the first place.

True, supporting a system so bad only makes it worse. But then again I think that alot of people are suckers for a sickly little puppy or in this case a fish. I know that I am, doesnt make purchasing that fish any better for the whole. Plus I dont know about alot of people, but I have to literally drive 2 hours to get to a LFS that sells fish food large enough for my fish. I usually order if offline but sometimes when one needs something right then walmart does come in handy.

last time i bought a fish from walmart was several years ago - all in all, a couple of senegal bichirs, 3 cories, a couple female bettas. plus my "horse trough becomes indoor pond" fiasco. . . . i killed a lot of pretty goldfish that week.

Wall Mart! Why would anyone buy a fish from that place! Sick unhealthy fish that get
almost no care.Don't waste your money.
