My biggest prettiest Discus has made himself/herself a new home. The problem is, it is behind a piece of driftwood that is covered with pants. I have to look very hard just to see if he is still in there. The rest of my Discus are always at the top to meet me in the morning and evening when I get home. I haven't seen this one for almost a month. What good is it to have fish like this if you can't see them?

Well good news, I think. He was out this morning, but his stomach looks a bit big. Will salt help?

Don't use salt. It is likely just a female, and plump with eggs. Salt will kill your plants.

Thank you. I was afraid of that. I hope it is a female. Only problem is I don't have a male mature enough to fertilize the eggs if she lays them.

Love any excuse to buy a new fish!

Not really, I only have eight right now and my goal is 12. It just might be time.

Just so you know, while they aren't violent cichlids by a long shot, introducing all of your discus at the same time can be beneficial vs. one or two at a time.

If you want 4 more I'd wait until I had the money for 4 more and introduce them all at once.
