Cominuty tank with small creni

Time of year will definitely affect it. I would wager that when the rivers flood and the fish disperse more, that insects would become more prominent. And it's not like there were no fish found in their bellies during the study. I did find it interesting though that they are not quite the strict piscivores that most hobbyists believe them to be though.
I can't recall how long the study was conducted over, if it was even mentioned. Am curious now though, next time I'm in the storage unit I'll see if I can find it.

If u look at a pike cichlid u will see that they don't fit the general piscovore groups such as:large telescopic mouths like:green sunfish,groupers,peacock bass etc.
They also don't fit in lunge feeders like esox species,how ever their jaws and mouths are more like that of an angelfishes,meant to grab insects.

But they still can eat quite big prey. I cant mix g.rhabdotus with lepidota or any other creni species in this size beacous they can eat females which are smaller than males.
So i start looking for some other species small creni (10-15cm) even if they not biotope with gymnogeophagus but handle quite low temperatures.

Cr. minuano is definitely small enough and a very pretty pike, though I haven't seen any lately available.
