Common, Diamond, High Back Rombeus - How do you determine the difference?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for the confirmation that it indeed is a Xingu, RonTheRHOM. You also made a very accurate guess on the size - it's between 6 to 7 inches. I guess it's going to take years for it to reach a foot. Any suggestions to accelerate growth? Though I've heard they really grow slow.

Thanks guys!

np. i can tell how big he is by how developed certain parts of the body are.
rhoms do grow very slow but if you do everything right then you can ensure best growth rates from him.
try to get him eating everyday if he isnt already
twice weekly water changes
massive filtration
and treat for worms and internal parasites about every 6 months, whether he shows signs of them or not
also a powerhead to create a strong current usually helps, at least it stops them getting fat anyway

just use prazipro, paragon or any other PIRANHA SAFE worm and parasite killer

I hope we have those available here.

Thanks!

just make sure whatever you use is safe for your p's first coz some medications arnt, for some reason piranhas are a bit sensitive to some medications that are perfectly fine for other fish
