I want to know which is more aggressive/tougher, a common wolf fish(Hoplias Malabaricus) or Gold wolf fish, i like aggression more than activeness. If they have same level of aggressive then i gonna buy the gold that is more active, plz tell me.

From everything I have read here, the common Mala will eventually need to be kept on its own, while the golds can have tankmates and be kept together. The Common is said to be less active but I have seen them swim around a lot more if the tank is a bit darker. I would have to say the Common wolf is the one one you want if you are going for aggression.

I personally like golds better but Malas are nice to what size tank is this for ?

people recommend 75g, well i am keeping one in 29g alone.

mala usually more aggressive...aggressive meaning killer not chaser...
but even malas can be extremely placid. ;)

my Mala is an utter monster- tries to attack me through the glass, jumps at me when I’m feeding and I’m getting to the point where I think my 75g is just not big enough for him. Nasty piece of work but awesome fun to watch during feeding time and far from inactive. And to go with that i should have a trio of Gold’s for my 160g SA community (on Channarox advice- thanks!) so as said they are generally more peaceful. However, there are exceptions in most species cases... so we'll have to see how it goes

If you want the bite to back up the bark then go with a mala. Golds are nice, but they don't have the "go ahead and stick your hand in my tank" look.

Kool, i hope its a glass bumper too, i can only upgrade tank when i move to a new apartment/house unfortunately =(

Def. the mala, there can be exceptions but the mala is more aggressive and more capable of doing damage. And they do move around quite a bit when its no light...they are nocturnal.
