common plec's breeding habbit question???

ok i have 2 common plec's and i have a cave in my tank and i think they are breeding cuz both of them was in the cave and my male was ontop of my female but my question is, is that how they breed?

dnt know but from what ive heard plecs are really hard to breed

they are l001 and i know u have to have the tank above like 75 degrees and my tank is at 78 so idk
