Common snappin turtle and AST update

Got the common about a year ago and man is he active. Grabs anything that moves. He's still tiny but here he is.

AST when I first got him bout 2 years ago. They grow VERY slow. Mine takes raw shrimp, raw cutup fish, raw chicken, raw been, and once every few months feeders.

Here he is with his brother that my buddy got. unfortunately he died from neglect.

yeah, mine was smaller than a nickel when i got him. I will do an update tonight. he is larger than a half dollar now after a couple of months.

Eveyone said Id have trouble keepint togther. Thr only I have to be careful with the is during feding. Glad everyone is enjoying them!

Great looking little monsters! Be watchful when housing together as I had a tank mate take half the tail off the other. I also here a lot of people say that Alligator snappers grow slow. Mine grew from a 50 cent piece size, to over 5 inches in his first year! He's since slowed down, but at 7 years he is almost 16 inches in carapace length. Maybe it's just genetics? Nice turtles!
