Potamotrygon?!? ...yes, it is a different Family, Plesiotrygon, but you never mentioned we're supposed to to think of short tailed exclusively

Anyway, most likely a Plesiotrygon Iwamae would be too much of a challenge.

In thailand their common stingray gets over 6 feet wide.

the word common is relative to who is saying it and where that person is. Not just with stingrays but with like anything.

So yeh scientific names is what is best, avoids all confusion.
