common wolf and an odoe

hi,could a common wolf fish and an odoe live together.the tank is a 100 gallon.the wolf is 4-5 inches and the odoe is 10-11 inches.there would be no other fish

Not a good idea. Especially if the odoe is that much bigger then the wolf. Better chance if the wolf was almost the same size but even then, the odds arent good.

anyone else have any views please.the odoe is gentle so it wouldnt mess with the wolf.would the wolf mess with the odoe at the size they are now???

got a 4" wolf yesterday and added him to the tank.tank mates as follows

11" odoe
10" senegal
8" ornate
8" delhezi
4" wolf

the wolf has been staying with the bichirs.where they go,he goes .got out of bed this morning and the wolf was cuddled up with the ornate and delhezi in the corner of the tank.

if the peace doesnt last,the lfs is on standby

if you sleep at night you may not be able to react in time they may be fine know most small wolffish as some what peacfull but as they grow you allmost for sure will see trouble if the odoe can't eat it it will last a while but over time the bichirs and eventually the odoe will be killed they bichirs will go first because they relly don't stand a chance with the wolf
OR they may live fine for a long time ti'll the wolf get big enough to see th senegal as food but the ornate odoe might out grow your tank

if more people agree that the odoe and bichirs will definately be killed by the wolf fish,then i'll take him back.

I don't think you should have problems. I keep Polypterus with wolf fish and Odoe pikes without problems. My 12" Odoe Pike doesn't seem to bother the 8"-10" wolves or the 8"-17" polypterus. I have not experienced problems keeping wolves and polypterus of various sizes together either. Hope everything works for you as well.

my highfin tries to kill anything that comes close enough... ive seen monster comm tanks w common wolves though. it all depends on the fish now..

thanks cook,your the first person to give me some hope that all MAY be ok.did you add the wolfs first or last to the tank.my bichirs and odoe were first in the tank followed by the wolf.
