has anybody ever had success keeping protopterus lungs with other fish for more than a few months? or is that a stupid question?

The aethiopicus actively hunts any time it senses something in the water. My dolloi pounces on anything that swims near its head.
The only lungs I've successfully kept in comm arrangements have been my AUL and Lepidosiren paradoxa.

my 2' aethiopicus even destroyed a powerhead intake![]()
should i expect that kind of behavior from my annectens in the near future? or is he capable of that now?spoofsjsc;748014; said:![]()

its 10 in long. man, these fishes can grow! had it for less than 2 months... he's fattened up and grown more than three inches already! he's fed shrimp and worms everyday (is my feeding habbit right?)
korrrekkkt! he CAN pollute the water a lot! i do 50% wc 1 to 3 times a week depending on how dirty the water is. He's 11.5 now, btw. thanks solomon.E_americanus;748023; said:yeah, the annectens can be just as likely to randomly destroy objects, but it does vary with the individual. if the fish is 10" long it can definitely bear to go on a feeding schedule of once every other day, or even a two-day fast in between feedings. i would go with a feeding every other day with a fish at that size, although if you want it to get pretty big pretty fast, continue with the every day schedule, just be sure to keep up with water changes as lungfishes pollute the water quite fast.--
