Comparing Belts

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a 6 inch FO black belt from Honduras. It has the shape of the Costa Rican one but more of the color of the Guatemalan fish. Mine has a lot of red on the tail and seems to have a good bit of red from the base of the gill plate to the top of the head. Wish I could sex the damn thing.

Post a pic here and maybe we could help with the sex. Here's a pic of a 15" WC black belt I used to have for comparison.

Lol, promise not to report me? :grinno:. I only brought a few small fishes and it was not a big deal with the customs. They told me that as long as it's not CARP.

That is a hell of a fish to "used to have"! That is a great-looking black belt. I'll try and post pics again tomorrow but I really think it is going to be hard to sex the fish. Mine is 6 inches, maybe 7 now. It looks to have a lot of potential but the colors stay faded all the time, but it seems to change the faded colors a lot. It lords over 4 smaller "bifas". Maybe I should vent it, but alas I've never been good at that at all.

It was this BB pic that made me interested in BB's. Man! Thats an awesome looking specimen!

We both BB's fry or young when you obtained them? I wonder if food plays a role or if its just the whole "some just look better than others" case.

Man...would love to have some BB's that size in a pond.
