Ok so i am setting up my 55 galon tank for saltwater. Was thinking about doing a Spiny Box Puffer (burrfish), a trigger of some sort and if I can mix them of course a Porcupine Puffer as well. Will two salt water puffer be able to coexist. Will the Porcupine and the Burrfish fight?

no and they need a way bigger tank.

just to give you an idea of size, i have seen porcupine puffers in home aquariums up to 20" long

in a 55 gallon, you are very limited in what you can get

bob

i think you mean 20'. i think.

anyway they can get 3' long. if you're looking to get a trigger or puffer for a 55 i would suggest a filefish or some kind of toby. like a valentini puffer.

gotcha!
yeah. bigger tank.

everywhere i have looked the info has said that burrfish get to 8 inchs and porcupines get to 10-11....never heard of them getting that big. Some triggers don't get bigger then 12 inchs too like a Hawaiian Black Trigger

I also agree on the bigger tank. All those fish get rather large. If you get very small ones you would be ok for a year or so with a good skimmer and lots of bio filtration sand, rock etc. But you will deff have to upgrade soon after the year.

you could maybe get away with the burr and a trigger in a 75/90 but a 100 would be better.
if you like the way they look but just cannot get a bigger tank, definately the filefish and valentini/or similar.

What are the dimensions of a 55? I wouldnt want a marine fish any longer then 12" in a tank any smaller then 2' deep/wide(not high). Especially once you have rock in there.
As GB said stick with filefish and smaller puffers.
