everywhere i have looked the info has said that burrfish get to 8 inchs and porcupines get to 10-11....never heard of them getting that big. Some triggers don't get bigger then 12 inchs too like a Hawaiian Black Trigger
I have seen a porcupine puffer at my local fish store that was about 16 inches and it was pretty intense looking. The man at the store told me it was still a baby and will grow almost double the size, if not more. So as the guys said you would need a much larger tank even if you were just getting a puffer.

Come to Kona Grill here in Chandler, AZ. They have a 1,300 system with a porcupine that is getting close to 22" now. It is by far the biggest I have ever seen but he is one happy camper. Loves flirting with the guests and picking on the remora they have.

Yeah sorry dumb mistake. Rock can take up alot of space when you have big fish that cant swim between them.

ya i changed my mind about the puffers ...probly going to get 1 valentini puffer, 1 leaflip grouper, 1 longnose hawkfish, and a copperband butterfly fish to get rid of my aiptasia.

yeah man for future reference, take the max size you see in a store or on a site and add another six inches. i guess a lot of people would say 'mine only got this big' but look at what conditions it was kept under also. most of those probably died before reaching potential.

RobD32 - Good choice, Porcupine Puffers can get BIG! I have seen some around 30", they are great fish, and have amazing personalities but need a very large aquarium. You will be very happy with the Valentini, they are great too, stay small, and still have that playful personality with lots of people love about puffers. Good luck.
