I have a gold gourami in a 37 gallon with silver hatchetfish, neon tetras, agazzi corys and a rubber lipped pleco. The gourami bullys the corys and the hatchets. I was think of moving the gourami to my 55 with a sen. Bichir, brown knife and leopard cntepoma. How do you think the gourami would be in that tank? If I do it I'm going to add knew plants and move the rocks around so any territorial spots will be changed. What do you think?

how big is the bichir and gourami....

The sen is about 6 6.5 inches the gourami is a little over 4. There's no way the sen could eat the gourami. My knife is very very mellow and hides in caves 75% of the time. The cntenopoma has chased the knife for maybe 2 seconds or two or the 3 different occasions over the course of 5 months or so. All the fish in the big tank seem to be very very mellow. I just wonder if the gourami will mellow out around fish he can't mess with. He's pretty calm most of the time in the smaller tank but I know hatchets are sensitive and I don't want them to be stressed needlessly.

Go for it, the gourami will figure out that there are no fish to bully in the 55. They are very hardy fish and from my experience, mellow if humbled.

I think you should try it. Give it a shot, gourami's can be pretty aggressive.

Definitely try it. If it doesn't work out there's no reason you can't just switch him back! I don't think anyone should give the gourami problems. and vise versa

Do it. My opaline is in with 2 sens a firemouth and an ABK, only thing he bullies a bit is the firemouth who is fast enough to get away anyways
