Planing on geting a 300 gal will these fish be compatable or not a pair of each firemout, port acara, black convict, keyhole cichlid, rainbow cichlid ,kribensis, salvini cichlid, some silver dollors for diters and two spotted pike characins

Hard to say, when breeding pairs form they have a habit of taking over half the tank. I had a pair of pink convicts take over half my 8 foot long 150g tank. Click the SA/CA link in my sig to see the inhabitants of that tank.

It will probably work out OK for you, I would just have another tank on hand so you can either remove the breeding pair or the fry. You can also just remove the eggs as soon as you see them.

The first thing I would advise against (from numerous experiences) is that breeding convicts are awful in a community. Don't do it. Second thing I would advise against is breeding Salvini in a comunity. If you had just one salvini and one convict and the rest breeding pairs, then I would think that woul dbe much better.

Especially with the smaller more peacefuls like kribs and keyholes.

At the new aquarium in STL they have some 2000 gallon tanks and there are breeding salvini that take up around 1/6-1/5 of the tank. In the tank there are also breeding dovii, red devils, and midas. I say either go aggressive or passive aggressive with this tank.
