You'll have 2... 6" to 10" Fish in around 8 to 12 months, depending on how you keep your tank. Water quality, and food.

They grow very fast. I've had mine for 10 months or so and he has put on ~1" a month (now~11"). Get yourself a very large tank, 600g or larger and enjoy. They are great personality fish.

what are they compatable with
They will get along with most non/semi-aggressive fish as long as they are not small enough to eat. Their growth will out pace most tankmates so keep that in mind. Check my "tank set-up" for a list of the fish I keep with him.

Look up
Pacus arent really aggressive fish (will eat smaller fish though). But be prepared with good water quality and a good diet they will grow like weeds. Youll need a HUGE TANK for the 2 you have in a very short time.

When I had my pacu it grew about 1" per month, so they'll outgrow the 70 pretty quick, especially since they can get over 20"

Yeah, might as well just skip the 75 and go straight for a bigger tank.

given the size and shape these fish will grow to you would need something at least 3ft wide, 55 or 70 won't be anywhere close to cutting it

If you can't get something bigger than a 70gl I would just get rid of the fish now. You wold need a least a 220gl for one pacu, and the tank would still look small.
