a pike in that tank would make it even worse, you need to move some of those fish out sooner rather than later

yeah getting 65 gal next week :D also turns out that i managed to find a good jag that doesnt really bother any of my barbs/crawfish but hes eating that darn hitchhiker  lol what a beutiful creature, i moved some stuff and i can see that hes like my dads oscar's they're just so curious lol lobster tried to attack almost nipped me so btw:iagree:i may get rid of the barbies but i dont just want a species tank so what can i have in there with him can i have a senegal bichir and some sort of bottom feeder

You are way overstocked. Not even properly overstocked for aggression / bio load, which is what a lot of people do, but you're overstocked because your fish are going to be the size of your tank. That's just irresponsible.

what size of tank would you recomend for 1 jag, tinfoil barbs and other misc. tank mates as i would like to learn and get it right the first time, what kind of tank/filtration system do you have

I run very heavy filtration (1 405 Fluval, 2 AC110s, once a week WCs)

I admit even a 100g can be fairly tight for a Jaguar & tank mates, I would suggest the biggest you can house. A 100gal is the biggest I could house, so it's the best it gets now. Just be responsible with it and don't put him in a 20g or something ridiculous.

Jags only get meaner the bigger they get . It will probably beat on the barbs. One thing Ive learned is not to buy on impulse. Do your research before buying fish. Jags are on of the meaner cichlids. good luck
