I have 1 senagal bichir and was wondering if I could have another bichir or other african fish (like jewls or kribs) with it.

what size is your tank?-Anne

And what happened to th senegal?

I've got a ~6" palmas living with clown loaches, uaru's, a dat, a ctenopoma and a clown plec. He doesnt seem phased by any of the other fish.
I'd like to get rid of the uaru's and add another 1-2 bichir's, but the only ones at the lfs are all around 3-4" and quite a bit thiner than mine. Is there likely to be any aggression problems because of the size difference and with one fish already being established in the tank??

[sorry for the hijack!]

check out my pic & sig :headbang2

seems there is no problem, as long as the new fish is not aggressive and won't fit in your senegalus mouth, it would be fine

Bichirs are great together when relatively similar in size!

I wouldn't do it long term in anything less than a 55g, 75g+ preferred. As for the African aspect of it, provided it's not terribly aggressive or grows to outstanding lengths, it'll be fine. I've kept bichers with everything from discus to datnoids without much trouble.
