So my silver is now beginning to out grow his 55 grow out tank. He is about 10 inches long now and i wanna make sure i dont stunt his growth at all so I am now getting a 180 for the next year or to. Just till he is bigger than the tank is deep.

Any ways I have a LM bass and Before you all freak out about a native being in a tropical tank, just know that bass do fine in high water temps. They live all over the world even in mexico and south america.

Well I wanna get so pbass also and would a silver aro a LM and a few pbass do alright in that 180 for a while?
 
fora little while yes... get ready for a backup plan when they outgrow everythin in like 6 months...

Your saying after like 6 months a couple of pbass and a LM would out grow it!?

Iv had my LM bass for like 3 months and hes only like 6in and i got him when he was like 4.... and he eats like crazy
 
well damn i personally have never housed any species of bass, but i did house my arowana for about 2 years until he got really sick off of comets. I hear people in here all the time saying their fish outgrew tanks this fast blablabla.. well maybe u could have them in the tank for a year, but make sur eu do TONS of water changes and that you start looking for a bigger tank round next Xmas!
 
Id love to go straight to like a 300. The problem is the woman of the house is barely letting me get a 180 sooooo. I figure work it up to that 300. Took a while for her to get used to my 55 and other tanks but shes getting used to it.
 
Pay more attention to the filtration and do more partial water changes if there's no other alternative in housing them all in a smaller tank.:) This way, they should still grow well.
 
I think a 180 will be fine for awhile. I may get reamed by some people by saying that, but that's just my opinion. :D

I agree what brudder Koji said, good system filtration and good water quality is the key. :thumbsup:
 
I think 180 would be fine for a long time, but personally I think the time will come when you will have to get a 3' foot wide tank.
