I am looking to build a comprehensive stingray thread that includes 1st generation crosses as well as second and third to document expected features making it easier to identify certain hybrids. I know many are of the belief it’s completely random but I am of the impression all things follow pattern.

for example does crossing a BD with a pure BD for Albino Het BD generate a change in pattern? And if so will it remain when crossed back with Albino BD causing 3rd generation to look different than original BD perhaps larger spots or even change in pigment of albino?

my goal is for this to be a picture heavy thread showing parents and of spring as generations are documented.

I have Super white crosses I want to mix and would love a ide of what there offspring may look like as second and 3rd generation to steer development

This is what I have.

This is what I want to create in 3 generations

So in short what other stingrays do I need to get the job done and what have people used in the past to create new exotic looking rays. Like line pearls creating Luesistic rays perhaps there is more to be discovered and us pooling our efforts might uncover the missing link.

I currently have a 7x3 and 3x3. Also building a 4x4 to facilitate this hopefully I have enough tanks but I am thinking 2 makes and 4 females should do the trick.

Based on this I assume you can make all platinum. I wonder what a platinum BD and Platinum pearl will yield

I was advised that mine are SWC or super white cross. Which are mostly Leopoldi but probably have other things mixes of Henlei to generate big spots and are selectively bread to be white as possible. Most white diamonds imo look best at 8 inches and as they get older start to develop more brown and spots get spaced further apart.

Well first of the superwhites you posted are results of years and years and years of linebreeding. Second, like the line pearls. Thats an natural occuring trait, same goes with leucism and so fourth. The albino is a cross with an albino and an hybrid to get het pups, then you grow them out until mature wicb can take years to cross back to an albino wich still only gives you a litter with 50% albinos and 50% hets. So to get to gen3 be prepared to spend minimum 7-8years and some failure to come where you wanna come.

Albino BD Mixed with BD Het if the BD Het is carrying the albino gene (66% chance) will generate below offspring ratio Het BD to Albino.
