Yeah! it will even the odds for about a month then you'll notice that you will have more mouths to feed, they like to breed quite rapidly, just be aware.

Wow, whats up with all these killer gt's? My gt is pretty much near the bottom of the food chain in my tank. When he is not being chased or beat up by my black shark, my red zebra and jag are trying to take bites out of him.

My guess - the LFS I bought my GT from had it in with some medium sized Doviis, large Jack Dempseys and some Red terrors - poor Gt had to fight for it's life on a daily basis.

For now I'm going to set up two different boundaries on eiahter side of the tank, instead of having the decor randomly placed throughout - while hopefully adding more hiding spots as well. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

The other fish you have are non cichlid so the GT doesn't care. Add another few hide places . How can a divider not workl if the fish are seperated by it?

Call me crazy, I was hoping that by seperating them for a few days, then taking the back out, might do something. :(

The problem is that you have only 2 cichlids in there. That's the worst combination ever. I've seen so many bad advices here about stocking tanks, specially when the tank is 55 gal. People always say the same thing: "Put a gt and a jd, or jd and con, sal and sev, etc..When dealing with agressive cichlids, two individuals is a recipe for disaster. You should add another 2 or more convicts, and try to avoid pairs.

Do you think adding a Firemouth would be too much Bino?
