confront LFS?

I gave my 2 cents last week, when the group of loaches I was going to buy had ich. Mike simply said "they'll grow out of it, no worries" I then replied, "okay, I'll pass"

I never burn a bridge. I'll ask what's being done and maybe point out the dead. But keep it friendly and sociable. If they think meds are the only way, I might mention trying salt and high temps if they haven't tried that yet. But the way I see it, they are losing the battle already. Being boycotted by one conscientious fish keeper isn't going to make or break it. If anything, the shop could use a helping hand, not a slap in the face. Yeah, they should know what to do. But maybe they aren't educated or willing. Then it's tough. But in six months it might be a whole new crew working there, anyway. Depends on the situation, I guess.
Fish having Ick is one thing, But when I see dead fish in a tank it immediatly makes question the integrity of the LFS. Because that is not acceptable.
Ick in LFS is always an uphill battle. They move thousands of fish from unknown sources and all the tanks a connected using the same filtration system. They dont have an option to quarentine new arrivals, so its an inevitable part of the business.
Any LFS with a 1-2 week guarantee obviously isnt trying to sell sick fish or else they would lose money, So I can respect that fact. But im sure there are the shisty LFS's out there that know there store has ick and likes selling customers sick fish because there is a good chance it could whip out the customers stock, then they would have to come back and buy more fish.

From all professional medicine that we have tried we have seen questionable results. Even if a disease it diagnosed properly and the appopriate medicine is administered the whole treatment is a shot in the dark.
One "treatment" that works about 75% of the time is to just raise the temperature. Seriously. That simple.
We gave up on buying medicine and playing doctors. If the fish does not get better at higher temperature there is maybe a 10% chance the medicine will work.
That's spoken from experince importing small fish - both tank bred and wild.
