From these pics, he looks like a tatauaia. I'm not the best at these IDs, so take that with a grain of salt. I don't see any white edging on his caudal fin, and the caudal/adipose fins look to be the same color. Either way, that's a nice looking payara.
The red tail is not a dead give away that it is a tat. If it was like that it whoud be an easy id. But ther are armarus with the red coler in the tail

There's a sticky above on identification. Tats have there adipose match their other fins and armatus have contrasting adipose and other fins.
