Confused on acrylic thickness please help!

i would go with the 1" thick to be on the safe side if it were me.

Why chance it? I know your wife might be pissed but i wouldnt want to chance it breaking and be out 400+ bucks.

IMO when it comes to DIY tanks, over building is the way to go... do it right and you'll have a tank that last many years and will have piece of mind knowing htat the window will hold up
 
I see that you are located in ohio as am I.

I have a piece of used 1" poly cast acrylic that measures 96"x36" that I will sell for $400 if you are interested. It was previously used on a concrete aquarium and does have a couple scratches nothing to bad. Most were created from removing it. When installed again they wouldn't show.
