http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3955213&f=PAD/psNotAvailInUS/No I bought this fish labeled as a Pangasius Catfish.

Is there a difference between this fish and a Paroon or Iridescent Shark? I bought two of these fish from Petsmart at about 1" 6 months ago and I expected them to get huge but they didn't. I had them in a 45 gallon for 2 weeks at their 1 inch size and then I put them into a 125 and they had a growth spurt. One of them got to 6 inches and the other 3.5. I then put them in my 220 where they've been for a while but they haven't grown at all. I do weekly 50% water changes and have done in all the past tanks I kept them in. When they were younger they ate shrimp pellets and shrimp. Now they eat Cichlid pellets and blood worms. I don't know why they haven't gotten big. The only visual difference I've noticed between the fish I have and a Paroon shark is that the PS's top fin is pointier, longer, and more feather like. I was told by people that they are the same fish but now I'm not so sure. Do you guys think mine will get larger?

Yeah which is why I'm wondering because I've given mine proper care but for owning them 6 months and only going from 1" to 3.5" is weird the other one is now 6" though. I haven't noticed any new growth in about 3 months, it was pretty much a growth spurt and then it stopped.

What are you feeding them? Most of my fish eat protein and calcium-rich foods (think tilapia fillets, large shrimps and super mealworms which is their staple) and they are growing faster than anticipated.

I don't know the exact amount (each species is different), but I don't think it's unreasonable at that size / age to give them 5-10% of their body weight per day. 10% may be a bit high, but 5% is at least what I would expect.

You could calculate their size and the food amount and see what that works out to.

The food quality looks good, except you might be missing some nutrients at that age. I don't know if cichlid pellets are great for rapid growth.
