Congicus came down with fin rot

Damn my big congicus came down with fin rot. I added aquarium salt and hope he will pull through. I hate it when fish get sick. This is the part of the hobby I dread.

i accidentally left one of the canister off for a day when I was feeding. I did a WC that same day hoping to clean up the water. Now I got this congicus not stable with fin rot. I decided to leave him in there to see if he will fight it out. Taking it out might stress it out.
 
It's still alive and condition seem to be the same. Should I do another water change? I just did one two days ago.
 
Sorry to hear, stay on top of it and good luck. Pristine water for sure, thoughts on meds?

i was going to use jungle parasite clear. It covers a good range of diseases and bichirs seem to respond well to it.
 
Does this look like fin rot?

i find it so strange that he only had a little bit of his actual fin rotting.. seems that mostly the base of the fin was affected. but that is definitely fin rot on the tail fin. tea tree oil works well too but thats basically melafix haha
