Does anyone feel they dont ship as well as other polys ? Talked about this with Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 and Hao Hao . Wanted to hear from other congicus keepers i think FishNCash FishNCash mentioned he had a congi.

Is it ammonia sensitivity or quick changes in temp that they dont deal well with ?

I've had 4 congi and none of them shipped well, all shed tons of slime coat and exhibited some signs of ammonia burn and tail/fin damage where as other polys look magazine worthy right out the bag.

One congi that i picked up from mcblues literally went from his tank into a bin then maybe an ht or two drive to my house and even that one shed slime coat like crazy and looked all crappy at first.

Thoughts ?

Mines was fine when it got shipped and when i recived it, just a few damaged fin but most of the polys i get from shipping have a little damage fin.
I didnt see no slime coat floating in the water bag either.

Part of it has to do with the actual delivery
I imagine. Box gets tossed around and fish get stressed and the fish has scrapes and slime coat is missing. Maybe fish hadn't fasted enough or recovered from initial import. Anyone else order Congicus via delivery?

I had a Congicus in the past from Toyin. It had no issue out of the bag. In fact it even ate the first night. Most of my other Congicus were acquired locally.

Good point sam... if it is something like ammonia or temp swings the fish wouldnt be subjected to it for long
