i think you misunderstood. the vertical strips of the congicus are spread out along the entire body like the stripings on an endli.

what i meant was lapradei has several light horizontal lines in the anterior 1/3 to 1/2 of the body on and near the back. congicus doesn't.

Striping like and endli I should be able to spot that.

these are the horizontal lines i was referring to. granted they'll be more obvious on a fish with good contrast than on one with faded patterns.

I think I understand your explanation now. Just to confirm the picture you posted and the horizontal lines you are refering to are from a Lap, which a Congicus will not have?

they're alike in that both have vertical stripes spread out along the body. However, congicus stripes are typically neat and narrow (like milokai's pic). endli stripes are typically thick and more irregular/zigzaggy.
