Congo Puffer tank size

I'd like to get a congo puffer and i was wondering what an appropriate tank size for it was? I keep looking all over the internet and finding size ranges from 20 gallon to 75 gallon so could you guys give me an idea? Thanks

kk thanks for the fast reply also i've heard that over filtration is almost a must for these guys would running and Eheim 2217 be good?

40 breeder is fine. They are inactive puffers and only grow to about 6" tops. An eheim 2217 on a 40 would be fine

I don't see why a 20 gallon wouldn't suffice quite honestly. They only move to eat from what I've read on them and they stay buried under the sand 90% of the time

I have a 20g (i think it's a 20g tall?) but i'm trying to look for something like a 29-30 gallon range just to give it some space

That would be fine. Maybe even a 30 breeder if you can find one

I have mine in a 36, he is currently 2.5", and VERY active. He is constantly looking for food, and likes staring at my other tanks .
